Car Allowance + Benefits
Home-based
We are a people-focused health, safety and risk management consultancy, helping clients across a wide variety of industries protect those they employ and serve to the highest degree.
Since 2006, we have cultivated a culture of trust and flexibility. It ensures our clients can rely on us to prevent harm and protect their business. It helps us build and maintain mutually beneficial, long-lasting relationships. It gives our people the confidence and freedom needed to achieve phenomenal things.
As we continue to flourish, we’re looking to add more diverse and capable experts to our team who have exciting ambitions for their development and that of the business.
If you’re passionate about improving people’s wellbeing, keeping your skills sharp, working collaboratively within a supportive environment and building highly rewarding relationships, you’ll fit right in at Vita Safety.
The Position
We are looking for a Health and Safety Consultant to deliver exceptional quality consultancy services to our wide range of clients, from SMEs to multi-site national organisations.
You’ll be helping to demonstrate how health and safety performance is about more than compliance; it’s an invaluable asset organisations can use to boost their business in innovative ways.
This is a predominantly home-based role but you’ll need to be in easy reach of Greater Manchester and able to travel nationally.
Responsibilities
You dictate the way you work. We trust all our Health and Safety Consultants to manage their own time in a way that fulfills them and results in the best possible service for our clients.
Since we specialise in a wide range of industries, from agriculture and education to motor trade and leisure, no one working week will be the same. Enjoy variety, learn niche skills and discover new areas of interest as you:
- Deliver full project consultancy from initial needs assessment to full-service execution
- Visit sites for potential and current clients
- Complete health and safety audits
- Develop and deliver training courses
- Prepare and deliver consultancy service proposals
- Develop new and existing customer relationships
- Identify future revenue streams to add value to current project services
- Attend regular meetings on project performance and customer relationships with the consultancy team and the Managing Director
- Keep quality, contractual and project delivery records up to date and secure using SharePoint
- Follow and comply with all Vita Safety policies and procedures as well as quality management system requirements
There’s also ample opportunity for you to grow and improve the business, from how we build client relationships to enhancing our internal processes. Become an integral part of Vita Safety’s growth as you develop your leadership and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with health and safety consultancy experience across a range of sectors. However, we’re open to speaking with individuals who have a wide variety of experience as a health and safety advisor or manager.
You’ll preferably be a chartered member of IOSH. We’ll also consider applications from graduate members of IOSH with extensive experience.
While not essential, if you have a recognised ISO 45001 lead auditor qualification and a fire risk assessment qualification with relevant experience, we’d be extremely interested in speaking with you.
In addition to being highly methodical and detail-oriented, we want someone who enjoys interacting with people, possessing excellent communications skills and the ability to influence clients towards making the best decision for their organisation.
You’ll be an empathetic individual above all else, always mindful of our role in preventing harm and improving health and wellbeing at work.
Training and development
Our most important asset is our people. We’ll encourage you to continue your professional development, but not in a pre-defined way. If there’s a particular industry you want to gain more experience in or a new skill you want to learn, together we’ll create a tailored personal development plan to help you achieve your growth goals.
Benefits
This role includes:
- a car allowance
- a competitive pension scheme
- a private healthcare scheme
A tight-knit, friendly team, we enjoy a variety of fun activities regularly, from hiking in the surrounding countryside to playing darts and eating out. Plus, we are a family-orientated business. You have the flexibility to put your family first and work in a way that suits your personal circumstances.

Katy Cooper – Health and Safety Consultant at Vita Safety
“I’ve been with Vita Safety for a month now and the thing that sticks out is how human, proactive and supportive the culture is. You really get a sense that everyone is looking out for each other, and because the team is so knowledgeable, I’ve already learnt so much just from asking questions and getting to know my colleagues.
Colette Howley – Health and Safety Consultant at Vita Safety
“You dictate your growth at Vita Safety, which is really empowering. I have achieved chartered IOSH status through completing a portfolio. And client work was specifically chosen to help me achieve my aims; you don’t often experience that working at a consultancy.
